As a travel agent, I’m always on the lookout for hotels that offer something a little bit special. Places I can confidently recommend to clients who want luxury, style and an incredible location. The Londoner had been on my radar for a while, thanks to its growing reputation as one of the city’s most exciting new hotels.
I was lucky enough to visit, meet with the hotel team and get a personal tour of this stunning property and let’s just say, it didn’t disappoint. While I haven’t stayed overnight (yet!), I’ve seen enough to confidently say this is a hotel well worth adding to your London wish list.

First Impressions – Bold, Beautiful & Perfectly Positioned
If location matters (and of course it does), you couldn’t ask for better. The Londoner sits right on Leicester Square, in the heart of the action. West End theatres, Soho nightlife, Covent Garden shopping and iconic London landmarks all on your doorstep.
First impressions? Stunning. Every corner feels carefully considered, from the art-filled lounge on the ground floor to the glamorous bars and entertainment spaces. The design is luxe but playful, sophisticated without feeling stuffy.
Fun fact:
Planning permission for The Londoner was only granted thanks to the hotel’s innovative use of space. The building goes six floors below ground, making it one of the deepest commercial buildings in London. Below ground is where you’ll find the incredible spa, bars, and event spaces.
Inside The Londoner – What Makes It Special
Interior Design
Created by Yabu Pushelberg, the hotel’s interiors combine British charm with a modern, artful twist. Think curated art pieces, luxurious textures and striking, bold colour palettes. It’s elegant, stylish and full of personality.
Rooftop Dining: 8 at The Londoner
I’ve been lucky enough to experience 8 at The Londoner, the hotel’s rooftop izakaya-style bar and restaurant. Incredible views, delicious small plates and a lively atmosphere with a DJ on some evenings. It’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard.
The Spa at The Londoner
Located deep beneath the hotel, the spa is a hidden sanctuary. Facilities include a pool, sauna, steam room, gym, hair salon and treatment rooms. It’s calm, beautifully designed, and feels worlds away from the busy streets above.
The Residence – Exclusive Club Lounge
Guests staying at The Londoner have access to The Residence, an exclusive collection of three beautifully designed spaces for relaxing, working, or enjoying complimentary food and drink throughout the day. It’s like having your own private members’ club within the hotel.
Dining & Drinks Beyond the Rooftop
Whitcomb’s – Mediterranean-inspired dining with a focus on simple, seasonal ingredients.
Joshua’s Tavern – A gin-focused bar (over 50 gins on the menu!) with its own in-house cocktails and a relaxed, slightly quirky vibe.
The Stage – A champagne bar with live performances and a beautifully curated afternoon tea.
Rooms & Suites – City Views & Chic Touches
The rooms at The Londoner are surprisingly spacious for central London, with thoughtful details like signature scent diffusers, beautifully designed bathrooms and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Leicester Square. Suites take things up a notch with extra living space and incredible views.
Who’s It For?
Luxury city-break seekers
Couples looking for style, spa, and a brilliant base
Foodies and nightlife lovers
Those wanting to experience London from the heart of the action, but with a peaceful, design-led retreat to escape to.
Final Thoughts – Why It’s on My List to Stay
Everything about The Londoner feels considered, stylish and a little bit special. From the rooftop cocktails to the hidden spa below ground, it’s a hotel that really offers the full package for a luxury London stay.
I haven’t stayed overnight yet, but it’s absolutely on my list. For clients or followers looking for city-centre luxury with personality and serious attention to detail, The Londoner ticks all the boxes.
