When we were looking for a family-friendly weekend break in the UK, Foxhills in Surrey kept popping up. It looked like the perfect mix of beautiful countryside, great facilities for kids, and a little bit of luxury for the grown-ups. I wanted something where Jax could have fun, we could relax and there’d be plenty to keep everyone entertained without having to travel too far. Foxhills delivered on all fronts.

First Impressions
Set within 400 acres of gorgeous Surrey countryside, Foxhills feels like a proper escape from the moment you arrive. Think manicured grounds, tennis courts, a golf course, swimming pools and woodland trails... all wrapped up in a relaxed but stylish country estate vibe.
It’s one of those places where everything is on-site and you immediately feel like you can switch off. Check-in was easy, the staff were welcoming and the facilities list is seriously impressive before you even unpack your bags.
The Room – Spacious & Family-Friendly
Our room was close to the family facilities, which made life easy and it was spacious with plenty of room for Jax to spread out and play. The rooms have a classic country-club style, comfy beds, calming decor and everything you need for a relaxing stay.
It wasn’t overly flashy but it felt considered, clean and perfect for families.
Facilities – Endless Things to Do
This is where Foxhills really shines. Whether you’re there with kids, as a couple, or even solo for a spa break, there’s so much to do.
Pools:
Indoor pool – ideal for family swims, spacious and well-kept.
Outdoor pool – perfect in summer months for a more resort-style feel.
Children’s Facilities:
Soft play & playroom
Games room
Adventure playground & woodland trail
Kids’ club activities during school holidays
Jax absolutely loved it here. It’s honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in the UK for children. There’s so much space and so many options to keep them happy and happy kids = happy parents!
For Grown-Ups:
Spa & wellness – sauna, steam rooms, hydrotherapy (next time I will be booking in for this properly!)
Golf – two Championship courses
Tennis courts, gym, and fitness classes
Even though it’s fantastic for families, there’s a separate adults-only spa and relaxation area if you’re looking for a quieter, couples’ escape.
Food & Drink
Foxhills offers a few dining options across the estate, with menus that cater well to both adults and children.
The Fox Dining Rooms:
This is their main restaurant for dinner and breakfast, serving modern British classics with seasonal ingredients. Think steaks, seafood and hearty vegetarian options, alongside lighter bites. Reviews consistently praise the food as high quality with great service.
The Summerhouse:
More relaxed, this is perfect for lunch by the outdoor pool in warmer weather — fresh salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and a good cocktail list.
Breakfast:
A good buffet spread with cooked-to-order options... full English, continental choices and pastries.

How Was It for Jax?
Jax loved it. Simple as that. There’s so much for kids to do and the hotel genuinely caters to families rather than treating children as an afterthought. From the pools to the soft play to the adventure trails, he was entertained from start to finish.
It’s easily one of the best UK hotels for children I’ve visited and that peace of mind makes the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone.
Who’s It For?
Foxhills is ideal for:
Families looking for a UK break packed with activities
Parents who want a luxury stay that still works for kids
Golf lovers
Couples after a spa break (with family areas kept separate!)
Final Thoughts – Would I Go Back?
Absolutely. There’s so much to do at Foxhills that one visit barely scratches the surface. Whether it’s a summer stay to enjoy the outdoor spaces or a winter break with the pools and spa, it’s a brilliant choice for families who want more from their UK staycation.
